2024 Scholarship Recipient Bios

Meghan Ackerman:

Meghan is a young student, dancer, outdoor enthusiast, and avid traveler. She is a professional Highland dancer with provincial, national, and international titles.
While pursuing her secondary education, Meghan volunteered as a candy striper at the Salmon Arm General Hospital, where she had the privilege of building relationships with elderly members of the community and the dedicated hospital staff. Currently she is completing her third year of a Bachelor’s in Health and Exercise Science at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna, BC. Following this degree, she wishes to pursue a Master of Physical Therapy.
Cupe 1908 wishes Meghan every success and we are excited to support her in all of her future pursuits.

 

Katie Overgaard:

Katie has been actively involved in the community being a lifeguard, swim instructor and soccer coach. Currently, she is a student at the University of Calgary, in the second year of a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She wishes to pursue her Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
We are happy to recognize Katie’s hard work and wish her all the success in her upcoming educational career.

 

 

 

Donny Robichaud:

Donny is an avid basketball player who has enjoyed being involved with the sport for many years-from middle school to senior high. He also enjoys coaching. Donny believes there are many benefits to staying active, and he is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. Currently, he is enrolled in UBCO, where he is pursuing a career in physiotherapy.
